We're a bit spoilt working in a great news patch like Croydon, but I have to say I was rather surprised this story from a paper down in Sussex warranted QUITE so much attention.

Yes, you are absolutely right. It is a crap non-story. Desperate parochialism.
But is that any different from the Advertiser's regular car crash story leads on the website?
Or the recent video "exclusive" of an air ambulance: no footage of the accident, the accident's aftermath or the victims of the accident. All we got was several seconds' worth of wobbly cam showing a red helicopter with its blades going round.
Just because someone sends stuff to you does not make it news.
